"The Vancouver office of the Canadian Wildlife Service was approached in April 1960 by Mr. Miller Longhood, then President of the Crescent Beach Property Owners Association. He wished us to assist in two projects, one of which involved a playground area not so covered with the responsibility of the Service. The other project was the acquisition of the Mud Bay marsh for waterfowl management purposes. Head office was notified of the request and some of the ramifications were mentioned. Further study was proposed"--Introduction, page [1].
