The use and impact of Canada Land Inventory information related to B.C.'s natural resource management and planning activities / by G.G. Runka Land Sense Ltd. for Lands Directorate, Environment Canada.: En70-4/1980E-PDF
"The objective of this report is to explore the impact of the Canada Land Inventory program on natural resource management and land use planning activities in British Columbia. For the purposes of this study, the Canada Land Inventory program comprises the comprehensive national survey in map form of land capability for agriculture, forestry, recreation and wildlife, as well as the associated land classification systems and the use-oriented studies and analysis. It is recognized that the CLI program is reconnaissance rather than detailed in nature and intended as a tool for planning rather than for managing the nation's land resources. With this in mind, relevant legislation, regulations, policies, bylaws, procedures and plans in the areas of land use planning and natural resource management were reviewed to the extent of the time allotted. Documents and reports were researched and a limited number of interviews held with provincial, regional and local government agencies, corporations and private interest groups"--Introduction and guidelines to use of the report.
