The computer modelling work undertaken in parallel with scale-model measurements at NRC is described. A typical omnidirectional antenna site with two nearby transmission lines (Hornby, Ontario) is first modelled in simplified form as a single line with uniform tower spacing. Modelling guidelines for tower and line representation are developed with this model by close analysis of patterns, current distributions, and resonant behaviour.
