5203 |a"Measurements were made of signal levels in the 2-m and 1.2-m bands in the 'shadow' region associated with "wooded/cleared" boundaries at two sites in summer (maximum foliation) and winter (minimum foliation). The observed Path-loss for both sites (called Sites # 1 and #2 respectively) is given. In general, it is found that the path-loss at both sites mainly shows anomalous behaviour in as much as there is little or no decrease in path-loss as the distance from the boundary increases, and that there is no clear correlation between path-loss along the 'downstream' path with seasonal change in foliation. All observations were made with vertical polarization"--Abstract, p. 1-1.
