Preliminary evaluation of AFBC solid waste properties, 1982/83 / by Dearborn Environmental Consulting Services and the Wastewater Technology Centre, Environmental Protection Service, Environment Canada...: En42-1/3-2-0E-PDF

"Literature reviews and laboratory studies were conducted to provide preliminary information on the properties of atmospheric fluidized bed combustion (AFBC) solid residues and to allow comparisons with conventional pulverized coal-fired (PCF) wastes and PCF flue gas desulphurization wastes. Two AFBC spent bed materials and one baghouse material were subjected to a variety of laboratory tests and analyses to evaluate their physical, chemical, exothermic and leaching properties. The wastes were generated during the combustion of Canadian high-sulphur coal and a mixture of high-sulphur coal and woodchips in limestone bed at an AFBC test facility"--Abstract, page iii.
