"The Water Survey of Canada (WSC) is the federal agency responsible for the collection, interpretation and dissemination of standardized hydrometric data and information in Canada. It is an esteemed organization, proud of its traditions and accomplishments spanning over 120 years. The WSC is an International Organization for Standardization 9001 certified organization, committed to the principle of continuous improvement. Adopting standard practices for data processing is essential to our mandate. This document outlines the methods used by the WSC to edit discrete and time series data, focusing on water level. It incorporates the collective expertise of WSC and builds on the existing procedures for stage measurement and levelling. The intent of this document is to define standard practices and support continuous improvement, producing quality data"--Foreword.
