Global greenhouse gas emissions and Canadian GDP.: YN5-259/2022E-PDF

"In previous analyses, PBO estimated the economic impact of the Government's policies to reduce Canada’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This report extends those analyses to examine the long-term impact on the Canadian economy of changing weather patterns due to climate change, which is summarized by the change in real GDP. Our analysis is intended to be a first step in reporting the economic impacts of climate change to parliamentarians. Given that our analysis draws from a literature still in the early stages of development, our results are best seen as reflecting some of the major factors linking climate change and the economy, with more refinement to come in future work"--Summary, page 3.
