"This independent assurance report was prepared by the Office of the Auditor General of Canada on Internet and mobile cellular connectivity in rural and remote areas. Our responsibility was to provide objective information, advice, and assurance to assist Parliament in its scrutiny of the government’s management of resources and programs and to conclude on whether the Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission complied in all significant respects with the applicable criteria. … The objective of this audit was to determine whether Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission had improved the accessibility, affordability, and quality of high-speed Internet and mobile connectivity for Canadians in rural and remote areas"--About the audit, page 21.
