"The ability of the generalized extreme value (GEV), the three-parameter lognormal (3LN), the log-Pearson Type III (LP3) and the Wakeby distributions to fit conventional samples and samples having historic information was tested using limited Monte Carlo simulations. The Monte Carlo data were generated from two assumed LP3 populations"--Abstract, page 1.
