"In December 2021, the 194 World Health Organization (WHO) Member States, including Canada, agreed to launch an intergovernmental negotiating body to develop a new WHO convention, agreement or other international instrument on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response (a “pandemic instrument”). Canada has been supportive of this process, as a stronger and better coordinated global health security architecture for disease outbreaks is essential to securing the health and safety of Canadians in a globalized world"--page 4.
