La chouette des terriers (Speotyto cunicularia) = Burrowing owl (Speotyto cunicularia).: CW66-1277/1997-PDF
"A national recovery plan has been prepared and is currently being implemented by a group of experts from federal/provincial agencies and the academic community. A recent protection measure is the requirement by Agriculture Canada and the manufacturer and Canadian distributor of Furadan that users of this insecticide survey their land and avoid spraying closer than 250 m from occupied Burrowing Owl nest burrows. Protection of the Burrowing Owl is also largely due to Operation Burrowing Owl, which was established in 1987 by Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management and is now managed by Nature Saskatchewan"--Conservation efforts, page [2].
