"The key features of the fuel-air explosives (FAE) field testing facility at the Defence Research Establishment Suffield (DRES) are described. The current test program at DRES is focused on critical conditions for initiation and transmission of detonation in ethylene-air mixtures. This program includes an investigation of the influence of confinement on the propagation of detonation. Selected results from these investigations are discussed and typical photographic and smoked-foil records obtained during the current test program are included"--abstract.
