5203 |a"The transmission of gaseous detonation through model blast valves has been investigated in a series of laboratory tests. Based on open-shutter photographic observations of the transmission phenomena in various model configurations, the key mechanisms and parameters which govern the transmission process have been identified. In addition, a scaling procedure has been proposed for estimating the influence of actual blast valves on the transmission of Fuel-Air Explosive detonations into protected installations through the ventilation ports. The predictions based on the scaling procedure are compared with results from full scale tests"--abstract.
