"This report contains a written assessment of the communications survey undertaken by the Extension Service of Memorial University on the East Coast of Labrador during the months of July and August, 1970, under the sponsorship of the Federal Department of Communications and Bell Telephone Company of Canada. It is a supplement to the video-tape presentation which is a sampling of opinions and assessments by people on the Labrador Coast of their communications needs. It contains a frame of reference and method by which the survey was conducted, a general socio-economic background to the communities on the Labrador Coast and an assessment of the interviewees and the opinions they express, an assessment by the Extension Service of communications needs on the Labrador Coast, and finally, recommendations for meeting communications needs on this coast as assessed by both the people of the coast and the Extension Service of Memorial University"--page 1.
