520 |a"Herein is an analysis of the Upper Cretaceous-Paleogene Eureka Sound Group in the eastern Arctic Islands, primarily Ellesmere and Axel Heiberg islands... Strata in the Upper Cretaceous and Paleogene basins record the transitions from thermally-dominated subsidence that characterized most of the Sverdrup Basin history, to foredeep subsidence and eventual fragmentation into much smaller basins. The latter phase of basin development is usually regarded as the ultimate response to Eurekan deformation. Thus, the Eureka Sound Group spans the gamut of tectonosedimentary regimes, from pre-orogenic to late-orogenic phases, over a period of about 40-45 million years." --Introduction.
