CIHR Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health : internal assessment for 2011 international review.: MR4-171/2011E-PDF

"The wording of IHDCYH’s official mandate, as proposed by the CIHR Interim Governing Council, was: “The Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health supports research to enhance maternal, child and youth health, and to address causes, prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, short- and long-term support needs, and palliation for a wide range of health concerns associated with reproduction, early development, childhood and adolescence.” Although the official mandate was quite broad, the Institute leadership focused from the beginning on developmental processes and transitions in the life course rather than on specific organs or diseases"--Mandate and context, page 1.
