"Transportation is a key sector covered by the Accessible Canada Act, which aims to create a barrier‑free Canada by 2040 through proactively identifying, removing, and preventing barriers to accessibility in areas under federal jurisdiction. The Accessible Transportation for Persons with Disabilities Regulations are one of the regulations set in place to help persons with disabilities. They gradually came into force between June 2020 and June 2022"--Background, page 8.
