"Experiments were conducted in a sediment flume using three models of a basket sampler to determine their sampling efficiency. The results, together with analysis of data from the literature indicates that the sampling efficiency of basket samplers is not constant but may be a function of two dimensionless variables"--Abstract, page iii.
