The national shelter study : emergency shelter use in Canada 2005 to 2021.: T94-59/2024E-PDF
"The National Shelter Study is an ongoing analysis of emergency shelter trends in Canada. This is the sixth edition of the National Shelter Study. It extends the timeframe of the analysis from 2005 to 2021 and describes trends in shelter use, shelter capacity and shelter users. Particular attention is paid to 2020 and 2021 and changes associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The National Shelter Study is the most comprehensive national-level study of homelessness in Canada and is important for understanding trends over time. While emergency shelter use is a strong indicator for homelessness, it is important to note this report does not include experiences of homelessness that take place outside of the emergency shelter system"--Executive summary, page [3].
