Arctic ambient noise and modelling / Michael V. Greening.: DR52-12/3-1990E-PDF
"The report is an addendum to the two papers "Vertical Directivity Measurements of Ice Cracking" and "Extraction of the Seabed Reflectivity Function Using Ice Cracking as a Signal Source". The report presents the results completed, along with a description of the tasks remaining to obtain measurements of the spatial, strength and temporal distributions of the source. Upon completion of these results, the source model describing the total energy entering the water from ice cracking will be completed. This will then be combined with a propagation model to produce a noise model capable of reproducing various ambient noise features such as the coherence across a vertical array. The aim of this work is to produce a source model of low frequency (smaller than or equal to 200 Hz) Arctic acoustic noise."--page 1.
