520 |a"This report presents U-Pb geochronological results from isotope dilution-thermal ionization mass spectrometry (ID-TIMS) dating of zircon from selected intrusive rocks of the Abitibi greenstone belt and La Grande subprovince. The dated intrusive rocks host and/or are associated with gold deposits and provide constraints, both maximum and minimum, on the timing of mineralization in selected areas. The work presented here was initiated by the Geological Survey of Canada through Targeted Geoscience Initiative (TGI) Abitibi (TGI-3), Lode Gold (TGI-4: Dubé and Mercier-Langevin, 2015), and Gold (TGI-5: Mercier-Langevin et al., 2020) projects and as part of its review of gold metallogeny in the Abitibi greenstone belt (see Dubé and Mercier-Langevin, 2020). This work was done in collaboration with the Jack Satterly Geochronology Laboratory (University of Toronto), the provincial surveys (Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts and Ontario Geological Survey), and the industry. The objective of this study was to improve the current knowledge of such intrusion-associated deposits by adding critical age constraints on a variety of styles of gold mineralization and deposits in major Archean gold districts. Geochronology results and their implications are briefly reported and discussed here. Although previously reported in the literature, most of the U-Pb ages presented here were never formally published with precise information regarding the samples, locations and compositions, and complete analytical data (e.g. data tables, concordia diagrams)"--Introduction, page 2.
