"In EAF steelmaking, slag plays a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency of the process and protecting the furnace from the intense heat generated by the electric arc. As the recycled steel or DRI is melted in the EAF, the arc’s high temperatures can erode the furnace lining and compromise its structural integrity.
