"Using General Social Survey (GSS) on Victimization data from 2009, this article looks at the prevalence and nature of self-reported violence against Aboriginal women in the ten provinces. In addition, reporting of victimization to police, victims' use of formal and informal support services, and the consequences of violent victimization are discussed. Finally, this report examines Aboriginal women's perceptions of personal safety and their satisfaction with the criminal justice system"--Page 6.
