"The Department of Communications has the responsibility of helping to ensure that Canadians obtain access to an expanding variety of telecommunications services. In Central Region this responsibility includes the functions of managing the radio frequency spectrum, and the planning and administration of the Federal Government's inter-city and local telecommunications networks.
