"A surgical procedure has been developed for the implantation of chronic cannulae in the carotid artery and the juglar vein. The method is simple to perform and allows serial blood samples to be drawn. Infusions of various drugs may be done at the same time as blood pressure recordings on conscious, free-moving or lightly restrained dogs"--Abstract, page iii.
