"This study was conducted to support the identification of mortality assumptions for the 20th Actuarial Report on the Pension Plan for the Public Service of Canada (PSPP) as at 31 March 2023. The increase in life expectancy and the changes in future longevity improvement rates are important risks faced by defined benefit pension plans. This study helps to manage these risks by understanding the evolution of plan experience in order to determine appropriate mortality assumptions"--Executive summary, page 6.
