A study of Canadian joint ventures in Brazil / J.W.C. Tomlinson.: C54-1/73-1979E-PDF
"Foreign firms seeking involvement in Brazil have a choice of at least four major strategic routes to enter the Brazilian market. The first is to service the Brazilian interests through licensing or export arrangements. The second is to invest in a joint venture operation with a Brazilian partner. A third is to do so with a non-Brazilian firm, while a fourth option is to create a wholly owned subsidiary in Brazil. Many Canadian investors have chosen the second alternative as a vehicle for their investment. Their reasons for preferring this option and their overall successes and failings with joint ventures in Brazil form the basis of this study"--Introduction, page 1.
