A new era of partnerships : Canada's engagement with Africa : report of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development / Ali Ehsassi, chair.: XC11-1/1-441-28E-PDF
"This study by the Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development assessed how Canada engages with Africa through diplomacy, trade and investment, security cooperation, and development and humanitarian assistance. In so doing, the committee set out to determine whether recalibration and further investment are required. The report's findings and recommendations make it clear that Africa has changed, and that Canada's approach must change with it. This study emphasized that over the last two decades, as Africa became more strategically significant, Canada's profile, presence, and relevance diminished. The committee has therefore determined that Canada will need to enhance its diplomatic capacity, expand and diversify its commercial relationships, enhance its dialogue, and strengthen its people-to-people and linguistic ties with the continent"--Provided by publisher.
