Atmospheric long range transport models and their applications : an explanation for the non-specialist / by H.L. Ferguson.En57-64/82-001E-PDF

"Over the past several years public and political attention has been focused increasingly on the problem of "acid rain" and other effects of the transport of harmful substances through the atmosphere over distances of hundreds to thousands of kilometres. Scientists engaged in studies of these phenomena, as in other specialized fields, have developed a technical language (or jargon) which can be, at first exposure, incomprehensible to non-specialists. In this paper a few basic technical terms are explained and some frequently asked questions about atmospheric long range transport (LRT) models and their applications are answered"--Introduction.
