5203 |a"The Atmospheric Environment Service participated in the 6th Remote Sensing Campaign of the CEC in June, 1983, in Fos-Berre, France. A mobile van containing a vertically pointing Lidar, two Cospecs and a ground SO2 analyser obtained 7 days of data on the fluxes of SO2 and plume dispersion climatology around Fos-Berre. The data proved to be of very high quality and revealed that the local sea and lake breeze climatology is extremely important in plume dispersion. Locally higher levels of SO2 on the ground were seen during the land to sea breeze transition. Local convergence zones and return flow were also seen in the lidar data"--Abstract.
