"This independent assurance report was prepared by the Office of the Auditor General of Canada on federal real property. Our responsibility was to provide objective information, advice, and assurance to assist Parliament in its scrutiny of the government's management of resources and programs and to conclude on whether the management of federal real property complied in all significant respects with the applicable criteria. … The objective of this audit was to determine whether: Public Services and Procurement Canada managed the government's office portfolio to provide adequate space for the public service while minimizing costs to Canadians, with the support and guidance of the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat; the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation managed the Federal Lands Initiative in a manner that enables it to achieve the aims of this initiative under Canada's National Housing Strategy with the support of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada. …"--About the audit, page 23.
