"A series of observations on the behaviour of young Atlantic salmon held in aquaria was made during July and August, 1957. The apparatus was set up in the field near one of the Fisheries Research Board's salmon counting fences on the Northwest Miramichi River, N.B. Conditions in the aquaria closely ressembled those in the nearby river. The objective was to make a preliminary study of and to become familiar with the types of activities shown by juvenile Atlantic salmon in fresh water"--Page 2.
