"Since 1954 temperatures have been taken of many streams and rivers entering Lake Superior in the central north shore region from the international border northeast to Marathon. This report deals with the 40 rivers in this area which, at the time of writing (June, 1958), remained assessed as certain, probable, or possible for lamprey spawning. Two streams assessed as improbable are also included"--Page [1].
