"Graphs of vertical velocity are presented for four latitudes in terms of absolute vorticity and 1000-500-mb thickness advection. A method of obtaining the vertical velocity at any other latitude is also given. A graph for the computation of precipitation rate from vertical velocity and precipitable water content is included"--Abstract.
