"During the International Aerological Days Period, April 1-10, 1948 additional radiosonde and upper wind observations were made at most Canadian aerological stations, especially during the four day period April 3-6 when four radiosonde or rawinsonde ascents per day were made at every station where sufficient staff was available. In addition, through the excellent co-operation of the Canadian and transatlantic air lines, and the Royal Canadian Air Force, a vast amount of information regarding flight weather conditions throughout Canada and the North Atlantic was collected during the period"--Page [1].
