"Uranium-thorium-rare earth element (U-Th-REE)-bearing deposits hosted in granitic pegmatites, skarns and marbles occur throughout the Bancroft region of central Ontario within the Grenville Province of the Canadian Shield. These deposits, mined since the late 1950s, were the focus of a study under the GSC's Environmental Geoscience Program, to develop a geoenvironmental ore deposit model including detailed mineralogical and geochemical characteristics"--Abstract, page iii.
