"Catch and effort statistics for the Canadian groundfish fishery (excluding halibut) on the Pacific coast in 1992 are presented. Statistics are shown by major areas, minor areas, and International North Pacific Fisheries Commission areas in metric tonnes (t). Total domestic landings in 1992 were 92,801 t, 8% above the total for 1991. Most of the catch was taken by trawl gear. The main species landed were Pacific hake, Pacific cod, sablefish, yellowtail rockfish, lingcod, and Pacific ocean perch. Joint-venture fisheries along Canada's west coast caught 69,657 t of Pacific hake in 1992"--Abstract, page iv.
