Study of thin-route TDMA with demand assignment capability : final report / prepared by S.S. Kamal, R. Matyas, J. Bodie, T. Rubino.: Co24-3/1-82-069E-PDF
"In this report we focus exclusively on TRTDMA networks providing a wide range of integrated voice, video and data services for potential application in INTELSAT systems. In these networks, terminal traffic densities can be non-homogeneous. Furthermore, the traffic demand at a terminal is often characterized by high peak-to-rms statistics. Consequently, emphasis is placed on capacity allocation through variable rather than fixed assignments, on a dynamic or demand assigned (DA) basis"--page 2.
