Empirical approach to the calculation of the eastward displacement of short period geopotential change areas in the free atmosphere / by G. W. Robertson and H. Cameron.: En57-56/176-1954E-PDF

"The eastward displacement of short period geopotential change areas is investigated. A multiple regression equation is developed which relates 24 hour displacement relative winds in various layers throughout the atmosphere. This equation is found to be statistically significant and gives results superior to those obtained by using the wind at any one particular level"--Abstract.
