Statistics are shown by major areas, minor areas, and International North Pacific Fisheries Commission areas in metric tonnes (t). Total domestic landings in 1986 were 16% above the total for 1985. The bulk (86%) of the catch was take by trawl gear. The main species landed were hake, Pacific ocean perch, sablefish, yellowtail rockfish, lingcod, Pacific cod, dogfish, and silvergray rockfish.
