"As part of Transport Canada's response to the 2018 Railway Safety Act Review's recommendation on technology and innovation, the Department's Innovation Centre has been working with research organizations, railway companies and federal departments through the Railway Research Advisory Board (RRAB) and its interdepartmental working groups to develop a Strategic Research, Demonstration, Evaluation and Assessment Plan on automated and semi-automated inspection systems. Transport Canada's Innovation Centre engaged the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) to conduct a literature and data review of automated and semi-automated machine vision-based inspection systems (AMVIS)"--Executive summary, page 9.
