A contribution to the study of Acmaea testudinalis (L.) / by Mabel A. Borden.: Fs53-23/1928E-PDF
"Investigation of the marine gastropod, Acmaea testudinalis, was carried out at the Atlantic Biological Station, St. Andrews, N.B., during the summer of 1927, under the direction of Professor James Nelson Gowanloch. I wish to express my appreciation for his assistance and also my appreciation to the Biological Board of Canada for the facilities provided for this work. Habitat, distribution, geotropism, salinity, temperature, and lethal desiccation were studied as factors controlling the activities of this slowly-moving gastropod occurring in a region of great inter-tidal change"--Introduction, page 1.
