"During the summers of 1952 and 1953 limited cloud-seeding trials were conducted in Canada. The operations were airborne, and were intended to determine the effects of silver-iodide smoke, delivered directly into cloud. This airborne phase was intended to precede an investigation of the effects of silver-iodide smoke discharged from the ground"--Introduction, page 2.
