"The recent shift in the U.S. administration has brought significant changes to economic policies, particularly in the realm of international trade. In early 2025, the United States imposed 25% tariffs on all goods entering the United States from Canada that are not compliant with the Canada–United States–Mexico Agreement and 10% tariffs on energy product exports from Canada. Following this, the United States also levied a 25% tariff on Canadian steel and aluminum. In response, the Canadian government introduced a series of targeted counter measures. Notably, Canada imposed a 25% counter tariff on $30 billion of imports from the United States and reciprocal tariffs on certain steel and aluminum products"--Page 4.
