Re-evaluating the thrust and torque measurement capability of the Mark I propulsion system for the DREA Static Test Rig / George D. Watt ; approved by H.M. Merklinger.D68-21/35-1995E-PDF

"Data from the March 1992 benchmark tests of the redesigned propulsion system for the DREA Static Test Rig is re-evaluated following an initial assessment of low quality. These were four quadrant behind-the-boat propulsion tests in a large wind tunnel using a 6 m long submarine model. Some of the data have systematic error or erratic behavior. Most of the reasons for these problems are identified. When the affected data are removed from the data base, the repeatability of the remaining data matches that achieved in open water propulsion tests in a towing tank"--Abstract, page ii.
