"According to the 2022 Indigenous Peoples Survey, 52,030 off-reserve First Nations, Métis and Inuit children aged 1 to 5 were in child care (across all child care types), while 49,860 were not in child care. Among First Nations children living off reserve, 49.3% were in child care, while respective percentages were 55.9% and 36.2% among Métis and Inuit children"--Key findings, page 4.
