"Bibliographies on beluga, narwhal and walrus were prepared as an aid to biologists and scientists of the Western Region of DFO whose task it is to manage and undertake research on these and other marine mammals of Canada's Arctic Ocean. The lists include 244 references on beluga, 99 references on narwhal and 173 references on walrus published between 1887 and mid-1982. The bibliographies are arranged in alphabetical order by author. These are active bibliographies; a word processor diskette will be maintained to allow updating as required"--Abstract, page iv.
