"The Fisheries Management Branch of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) has requested that the West Coast Vancouver Island Chinook stock be assessed relative to reference points that are consistent with the DFO Precautionary Approach, provide harvest advice, and inform the rebuilding plan for this stock. In addition, the Ecosystem Management Branch has requested information to evaluate the recovery potential of the stock.
