"During the summer of 1926, a study of the trout of British Columbia was commenced. The objects of this study were (a) to determine the species of trout found in British Columbia (b) to determine the characteristics of each species. (1) So that, if possible, anglers and others might be able to recognize the different kinds, and (2) so that fish culturists might know which kinds are best suited for propagation as game fishes"--Page [1].
