The visitors sportfishing survey - 1983/84 / by M.D. James.Fs97-4/1831E-PDF

"The Visitors Sportfishing Survey is part of a database which contains information on sportfishing in tidal waters of British Columbia. It complements the Tidal Sportfishing Diary Program, which provides data on the fishing activities of B.C. resident anglers. The questionnaire was sent out to a random sample of 2,494 licenced tidal anglers who reside in other provinces or territories in Canada or in the United States. Anglers were asked to provide information about trips to British Columbia that included fishing in tidal waters, including catch and effort data and information on trip expenditures (see Appendix A for a copy of the questionnaire). There was a usable response rate of 71% for the 1983/84 questionnaire. The results of the questionnaire and an analysis of the value of visitor sportfishing based on those results are reported here"--Introduction, page 1.
